Food Art: Food for the Eyes

The food art movement is a revival of the surrealist movement and uses many of the same techniques, such as using multiple objects to create a larger image and bending familiar objects to communicate a new idea. It was also caused by an increased awareness about what we eat.

Giuseppe Arcimboldo was a Renaissance painter, and perhaps the first surrealist artist. His works were rediscovered in the early 20th century and his influence extended to many surrealist artists, including Salvador Dali.
