By using bright lighting and incorporating water into the background, Carl Warner creates a feeling of freshness. The horizontal lines create a stoic and restful environment.
The food art movement is a revival of the surrealist movement and uses many of the same techniques, such as using multiple objects to create a larger image and bending familiar objects to communicate a new idea. It was also caused by an increased awareness about what we eat.
